Alpine folk music
Making music together and especially dealing with their roots in folk music has a long tradition with the Familienmusik Waldauf. They consider it a great challenge to trace old yodels, dances, melodies and tunes and to preserve them without making them look dusty. They consider it a gift to be able to make music together and have had a number of unforgettable musical experiences together. The music-making weeks in Rotholz and on the Ritten, a small mountain village just above the city of Bolzano, in South Tyrol with excellent teachers and musician role models were formative. Musical encounters throughout the alpine region and numerous television appearances make the family music known to a wide audience. Their first CD "Waldauf gspielt" was released in 2017.
Laura-Maria
Together with her sister Magdalena, she forms the melodic core of the family ensemble on the violin. From time to time she may also play on an Austrian accordion.
Magdalena
In addition to her main instrument, the violin, Magdalena plays the double bass, dulcimer or zither and can easily spice up every instrumentation with her creative improvisations.
Matthias
From 2017, he has enriched the arrangements of the family music with his Austrian accordion and he always finds new ways of providing a clever harmonic support to for the melodic instruments.
Martin
He plays and also sings the bass line in every set up and therefore spreads the pulse of making music together. In harmonica duets with his daughter, he also picks up an accordion to show off some of his talents.
His clarinet sound furthermore enriches all instrumental yodels.
Elisabeth
She completes the group with her virtuosic guitar skills.
In addition to her instrumental playing, her voice also forms the foundation of the vocal trio with her two daughters.
